Barefoot Mazzie Visits Paris

The quilt pictured below is the first in a series of "Barefoot Mazzie" Journey Quilts. They are, in part, an homage to my late mother, Marion Conners Deidrick (1924-1994), who taught me the basics of sewing when I was a youngster.

My mother's nickname was Mazzie, and though she finally got to do some traveling after she retired, she never made it to the European continent and many other faraway places.  Now, through this quilt series, she will finally travel to them ~ the first place is Paris. Note the icon of the Eiffel Tower; the French posters; the pink beret; and, of course, the bare feet.  The quilt size is 16" x 20".

I think her next stop will be London.

My original pattern is available for purchase for people unable to attend for $15 + shipping.  The pattern includes 4 vintage French posters printed on fabric.

I changed up the quilt back and label a bit for this quilt by including some additional vintage Paris posters next to the label.
