Alaskan Quilt Cruise Block Exchange

In June 2013 I am heading to Alaska on a quilting cruise.  My entry for the quilt block challenge is below.  The block is 12" square and we were required to use the Northcott's Stonehenge Glacier fabrics to create an Alaskan scene.  The cruise ship in the background is a photo that I printed on fabric of the actual ship we will be sailing on  - Holland America's ms Westerdam.

National Freedom Quilt - Oregon State Quilt Block

I'm involved in a nationwide quilt group that is making a quilt that will eventually be presented to the White House.  Each quilter is from one of the 50 states and is responsible for making a quilt block that represents their state as it relates to freedom, joy, and creativity.  My block for Oregon is pictured.  It includes (clockwise from left) the Yaquina Head Lighthouse, the Lewis & Clark & Sacagawea Corps of Discovery landing on the Columbia River, the State Seal, the Portland Rose, The State Flag with the State Tree (Douglas Fir) behind it, the State Fish (Chinook Salmon) and the center square is an homage to the Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show that takes place annually in Sisters, OR.  The quilters are holding up a mini-quilt that has the State Butterfly on it (Swallowtail) and on the back of the mini-quilt is my mini-quilt label.  Each quilt block is 12" square x 50 blocks means it will be a really big quilt!
